Thanks to classmate David Handelman whose online sleuthing uncovered this fascinating obituary for Leo (Lee) Moldaver, who was in David's and my kindergarten class at Coventry School in ca. 1955.

I did not know Leo in High School nor later in life.  I wqs moved by the article describing the man who he became.  What a wonderful man and my wish is that he may rest in peace knowing all of the good deeds he left behind during his too short lifetime.

I must say that although I do remember Leo from Heights, I don't have very many strong memories of him. However, the article from Santa Barbara paints a picture of a really remarkable man. I'm sorry I lost touch with him after high school. He sounds like someone I'd have loved to know better. Although he chose not to lead an observant Jewish life, he embodied many of our values, so z''l.

These are never easy to hear about. Leo and I spent a lot of time together, especially while we were in Roosevelt Junior High. Good for him for having taken the road less traveled and for having truly done it his way. RIP.
