Jack and I were married in 1971. We had 4 children together. He was an English professor and an amazing person to be married to...funny and smart and forever teasing our kids and their friends. Our life together was a continuous adventure. He died in 1994 from mesothelioma.
Jack and I stayed in touch throughout college--he was at Williams, I was at Wesleyan, and we used to meet up at the annual Wesleyan-Williams football game. Jack was one of the nicest, most thoughtful, and reliably genial people I have ever known. It is so sad that he won't be around for our reunion this year: he's one person I would love to have a drink with and talk for an hour or two.
