Frank L. Jenkins

Rick was traveling back from one of his favorite places, Conneaut Lake in Pennsylvania, a place some of us may remember well, when he died in a car accident May 30th, 1978 near Warren Ohio while returing to his home in Kent. I Iearned and shared a ton of great music with Rick in those halcyon years! Soft Machine, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Quatermass, Curved Air and so many more great bands and artists....Fellow traveler to The Valley in Gates Mills, he was the organizer of the epic and fabled jam session in '73 with legendary Cleveland guitarist Frank Dunch in The Basement Party Room, where to my parents dismay, half the long-haired denizens of Coventry Rd, hearing the fantastic jams up the hill on Euclid Hts Blvd, showed up sitting in the side yard of the house listening to the concert through the windows! A night to be remembered indeed...here's a toast to an epic Chill....um... Session with you Rick, wherever your spirit flies now!
