Sandy and I were friends.  We spent a lot of time together at and around his house the four of us - Mitch, Joel, Sandy, and I.  We discussed important stuff - The Beatles, The Browns, and Indians.  We talked about things that boys in their early and mid-teens talk about for hours on end.  We played sports, cards, shot pool in his basement, and listened to lectures from his mother as she drove us to school.  Those were very good times.

Sandy and I worked together for the past 10 years.  We spoke fondly of past times and shared new experiences.   We chatted frequently and saw each other at least once a month.  These again were good times with an old friend.

Sandy was honest, loyal, and one of the sweetest men I have ever known.  He always "had my back".  I am poorer for his passing.

I was so sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing.   It was nice to see him at our 50th high school reunion, July 2017.

Please accept my deepest sympathy,  Ann Davis Bass

Sandy, I loved 'ya. You were always such a sweet, kind person. I looked forward to your big, bear hugs every time I saw you in the last 20 - 30 years. I loved reminising about Northwood and our super elementary school teachers and classmates.

Catching up with Sandy was one of the nice perks at our reunion.  I mourn his loss, along with his close friendships with other classmates.

I had the blessing of connecting with Sandy in AZ several years ago and again at our reunion. He had a warmth and a contented spirit about him when we talked at the Tribe game on Sunday. Glad to be a recipient of the "Sandy bear hugs" Debbie spoke of. Even in our short conversation what stood out was the fact that he seemed to have no regrets, which is an admirable quality. So sad to see our numbers dwindle. I treasure the friendships I have from CHHS, many of which I developed after graduation!

So sorry to hear about Sandy's recent passing. He was such a nice person as everyone has said.We had a nice conversation at recent reunion and as only 4 of us from Northwood attended Friday night, we had our picture taken, Sandy, Debby Kohn, Mitch Margolis and me. Can't believe that now one of us is gone. Condolences to his family.

Sandy was a really nice guy who would do anything for you.  I have many fond memories hanging out with him and was fortunate enough to spend some quality time with him at our recent reunion.  It was shocking to learn of his passing.  May he RIP.

I always remember Sandy as being a very nice kid in high school but, truth be told, we were not close.  Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when he so warmly greeted me with a bear hug at the reunion.  I didn't know at the time that he was famous for them.  I think it says a lot about him that he characteristically greeted people he knew this way.  Even though he greeted so many others this way, I won't easily forget that embrace.  I wish that I had gotten to know Sandy better when I was at Heights. He was a breath of fresh air being such a warm and friendly soul in a more or less cold world.  May he rest in peace.
