SCOTT GERARD Obituary 58, passed away on March 28th in Lafayette, CO from complications from pneumonia. He is survived by his wife, Maria Margaret Turner; his children, William LeBaron Gerard and Frances Salisbury Gerard; his parents, William Gerard and Martha Brown Black (William); his sisters, Karen Gerard Rankin (Mark), Kathleen Gerard Carvin, step brothers, Stephen, James (deceased) and David Black along with nephews, Coleman and Brandon Rankin and Turner and Matthew Carvin. Originally born in St. Louis, MO, and following a brief move to California, Scott grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He is a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, and San Francisco State University with a BA in Chinese Language. Scott and his family lived in China for over 14 years, starting his work experience as a Logistics Analyst for Phillip Morris in Hong Kong, then as Academic Director for Kojen in Taipei, and then as consultant for Gram and Kaien in Shanghai to improve English proficiency of corporate staff. Throughout this experience, Scott was dedicated to ensuring his children were immersed in the local Chinese culture, with the best quality of education. He and his family returned to the U.S in Newton, MA, where his children completed high school. Scott continued to study and improve his skills in Mandarin language throughout his life. He loved to travel with his family around the world, and made friends easily with his good nature, big heart, and infectious sense of humor. A remembrance celebration will be held on Friday, June 1 at 4–10PM at the Beachland Park, located at the end of Canterbury Road, Cleveland Ohio 44119. A second remembrance celebration will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 11:00 AM in Annisquam, MA.
