Philip "Purvey Duke" Wiggins has been my dear friend for over seventy years. We met at The Merigold Hunting Club before either of us started elementary school. I was blessed to enjoy his company in the woods, hunting deer, turkeys, squirrels, and wild hogs. We also spent countless hours fishing in our beloved Blue Hole down at the club where we made sizeable dents in the bass, bream, and white perch populations, along with too many alligator gar and gaspergou to count. Philip was always there for me whenever I needed help getting my Jeep, Scout, or Bronco out of one of the club's numerous mudholes through the years. We kept up over the years, with Philip being a major mover in helping to organize our Class of 1966 reunions. I only wish I had stayed in touch more over the last year or two, and I will now regret that for the rest of my life. Philip was one of the very best friends I have ever known, and I will miss him in all the years ahead. Rest in Peace, dear friend. Carlysle Meek

Philip was one of those guys in high school that you couldn't help but like no matter what crowd you ran with. Will miss seeing him at the reunions. God bless.
