Kenneth Elmer Henkel, age 86, of Wickliffe, passed away on May 20, 2021. He was born on March 2, 1935 in Cleveland, OH to the late Ed and Helen Henkel. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He proudly served in the US Army. In his earlier years, he enjoyed golfing, dancing, boating, and bowling. Ken was in the minor leagues of baseball during his high school tenure. He was the proud owner and operator of Aladdin Carpet over 20 years he then went onto DawnChem for an additional 20 years, where he was known as Dr. Spot.
Ken is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Irene M. Henkel (Rotter), children Todd (Lisa) Henkel and Shannon (Lisa) Henkel, cherished grandchildren Anastasia, Aleigha, Marissa, Luke, Connor, and Alec. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 4 to 8pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake. Please gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 10am for a procession to Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Lake County Council on Aging would be appreciated.

I got to know Kenny better after high school. We played golf together many times. He was a wonderfull guy, happy and cheerful, always positive.

I did not know him well, but remember him being nice to everyone! For some reason I thought he was in my home room, but not sure! Always remember class mates who were equally nice to others.
