In Memory

Isabel M. Discenza (Morielli)

Isabel M. Discenza (Morielli)

Funeral Mass for Isabelle M. Morielli (nee Discenza), age 81, of Willowick, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28th, at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick. Mrs. Morielli passed away July 21, 2018. She was born on August 22, 1936 in Cleveland, OH.

She was a longtime resident of Willowick, having lived there for 59 years, and was also a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church. Isabelle was a proud graduate of Collinwood High School.

She was an avid reader with a keen interest in current events and a quick wit. Isabelle was also a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend, always making time to help those in need or to simply lend a compassionate ear. The role that she cherished the most, though, was being a grandma, and she fulfilled that role to perfection. We will miss Isabelle every single day, but we are comforted by the beautiful memories of our time together.

Isabelle was the beloved wife of Giovanni "John"; dearest mother of Bernadine "Dina" (Thomas) Clements and Lorinda "Lori" (Tony) Goddard; devoted grandmother of John and Kathryn Clements and Kyle and Emily Goddard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Berardino and Ann Discenza (nee Romano); and brother, Anthony Discenza.

Contributions may be made in Isabelle's memory to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110 or Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, 10415 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.

Arrangements by Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home of Wickliffe (440) 943-2466.

Pauline, Betty, and I went to the Mass for Isabel this morning.  It was a very nice service, including piano music and singers.  Her daughter talked about growing up with Isabel for a mom.  It was interesting and funny, also.  She was definitely in charge of her daughters and had a wonderful way of putting it.  Although she had Alzheimers Disease, Her husband wanted to take care of her at home.  She was there until Hospice Care was necessary.
