Emily Irene Jenkins, a former resident of Cleveland, died Monday, May 19, 2003, in New York City due to injuries received in a fall.
Emily was born in Pensacola, Fla., on June 6, 1976 and attended Episcopal Day School before moving to Cleveland in 1985. In Cleveland, Emily attended North Lee Elementary School and later, Cleveland Middle School.
In 1994, Emily graduated from Cleveland High School with honors, and as president of the student body. From high school Emily pursued her education at Vanderbilt University and Leeds University in England. She received her bachelor of science in psychology II/neuroscience, cum laude, from Vanderbilt in 1999. In 2001, she received her master of arts diploma in women's studies from Warwick University in England.
Emily was a current resident of New York City and was employed with the Nantucket Film Festival in their Manhattan office.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, David Sullins Stuart, and maternal aunt, Harris Stuart Foss.
Emily is survived by her parents: Chris Stuart Jenkins and Dwight Jenkins; brothers and sisters: John Jenkins, Sarah Jenkins, Will Jenkins and Laura Jenkins, all of Cleveland; half sisters: Julie Brown of Cleveland and Camille Rohrer of Nashville; foster sisters: Stephanie Pantages and Tiffany Dilbeck, both of Cleveland; grandmother, Joe C. Stuart of Cleveland and grandparents: Roy and Sue Jenkins of Pensacola; loving aunts and uncles: Mary Stuart of Nashville, Sullins Stuart of Key West, Fla., and Carolyn Rohr, Steve Jenkins, Suzanne Olvany and Donna Jenkins, all of Pensacola; and several loving cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
