Original from Kris on 7/2/09     I just got a call from Amy Page.  She said Chloe's grandpa Greg Harling was in a terrible motorcycle accident.  He is in a drug-induced coma and was considered in stable condition, but she said his condition can change at any time.  He is in Utah in the hospital.  His girlfriend was with him and was injured, too, mostly with severe road rash.  I thought I'd let you know so you can get the scoop from Amy (hope I understood the info right), if you wish, so others might want to be in prayer for him, too.  ************************  Update same day:     It was yesterday.  He is in Utah..was on his way back from California.  He is on a ventilator...a drug induced coma....his hands/face/nose/left eye are busted up...he had plastic surgery on his left eye last night...lacerated spleen, fractured ribs, small head injury w/ bleeding on the brain, he is listed in stable condition but it could change at any time docs say. please pray for Chloe's Papa Greg:)

Greg's sister, Judy, just called me.  She said that Greg's mom, Pat, made it to the hospital & when she went into Greg's room he got a little combative/wild...he didn't want her to see him & to know how hurt he was.  He remains in stable condition & is still on a ventilator due to the broken ribs causing him so much pain.  He is also heavily sedated for his comfort level.  When Pat said, "Amy & Chloe love you & send you hugs & kisses" Greg got tears in his eyes.  He knows what is going on & who we all are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The doctors believe that he has NO brain injury..if there is one....it is very small!!!!!!!  It is going to be a long road to recovery but we are all so grateful that he is still with us to flash us that great smile of his:)  Thanks everyone for your prayers!  I will have another update tomorrow evening.
 

I have been meaning to get this out to all of you....Greg is doing amazing for almost leaving us a week ago.  He had surgery around his left eye & his hand/wrist yesterday.  The bones around his eye were pretty banged up.  He is still on a ventilator for now but they are going to attempt to take him off of it today or tomorrow.  If that is unsuccessful then they will put in a trache for him to use until his lungs are strong enough & the cracked ribs are better.  They have taken a lot of fluid from in/around his lungs out.  He didn't have to have his spleen removed.  He is sitting up for an hour or two at a time.  He is writing small notes.  He actually asked for some ice cold mountain dew yesterday!!!!!!!  Thank you all for you thoughts, prayers & over-all concern for Greg.  Chloe & I & Greg's family appreciate it so much!!!!
