Jeffrey Glen Adkins, 39, of Powell, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Highway 95.
Mr. Adkins was a security inspector at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.
Born April 15, 1961, in Anderson County, he was the son of Glen and Norma Jean Hunter Adkins of Clinton, who survive him. He was a 1979 graduate of Clinton Senior High School and attended Roane State Community College.
Mr. Adkins attended Edgemoor Baptist Church of Claxton. His family said he enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, including mountain biking, fishing and especially riding with his Harley-Davidson friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, James Jeffrey Adkins of Clinton; his sister, Jana Kay Davis and her husband, Gary, of Oak Ridge; his brother, Gary Adkins and his wife, Annette, of Chattanooga; his nieces, Sonya Kay Stewart of Long Beach, Calif., and Megan Adkins of Chattanooga; and by his nephew, Tyler Adkins of Chattanooga.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Mike Petty officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
