Comments:

I graduated from HSU in 1979 with a degree in Elementary Ed but didn't teach until my youngest son went to Kindergarten... I taught Kindergarten in Eula for 3 years then moved to Clyde where I taught Gifted Ed and technology for 14 years... then just quit. I have a master's in Reading from HSU and in Educational Technology from UNT and taught as adjunct prof at HSU for a while.
Now Mike and I have purchased the old Flower's Unique building and completely gutted the building... taking it down to 24 x 70' of large open space! I love the old tin ceilings and partially exposed brick walls. I have done lots of history of Clyde research and have a collection of photos, newspapers and such but always looking for more. I was in charge of the history presentation at the Junior High Auditorium for Clyde's Centennial in 2007.
I love photography, quilting, gardening, scrapbooking, and traveling. We still attend First Baptist in Clyde though I play handbells at the Methodist church. My grandson Eli and I spend time together while his Mommy teaches at Mann Middle school.

School Story:

My family moved to Clyde in 1975 so was only there my senior year (my third high school!) I remember
*Laughing at the thought that there were only 76 seniors in our class! (came from larger schools, of course)
*"Pierce... for President" and the little tub of Parkay butter
*Being appalled that Mr A would leave the room when he was giving a test!
*Coach Windham saying "read the chapter and answer the questions" then standing with his foot resting on the door facing (and then him letting me go the band hall most every day instead of putting up with me in class)
*Coach Mitchell in choir class and the men's section of the choir having different lyrics to most of the songs
*Attending band camp since I had never been in marching band. Meeting the new freshmen here who were very worried about figuring out their schedules and finding their rooms... laughable as we only had one hall in the whole building (honestly I guess I should add that a few classes were in the Jr High building) still haha!
*Rain on the day of the Miss Clyde contest and Denise saying "don't rain on my parade!"... she won, of course.
*Having the top locker with Fred Lipham the locker below mine
*Having a Junior Senior banquet out at Lytle Shores instead of Prom
