James A "Jim" Wisehart
SEPTEMBER 24, 1948 – JUNE 19, 2025
James A "Jim" Wisehart, age 77 of Gainesville, GA, passed away on June 19, 2025. Jim was born in Atlanta in 1948 to the late James Archibald Wisehart and Mary Elizabeth Turner Wisehart. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from University of Georgia. While at UGA he was captain of the Men's Gymnastics team and a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Jim was a pilot in the U.S. Navy and earned the rank of Lieutenant (LT). While in the Navy he flew the C-130 aircraft. He retired as a pilot for American Airlines. Jim attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville. Two of the things that Jim loved were flying and staying in shape. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Hydrick. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Grace Wisehart. He is also survived by his children: Jimmy Wisehart of Richardson, TX and Allison Wisehart of Gainesville, GA; brother, Steve (Betsy) Wisehart of Gainesville, GA; and sister, Karen (Chuck) Johnson of Gainesville, GA.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, GA. A reception will follow the services at the church.
