I'll never forget entering the 7th grade and having an enormous crush on Joey Barnett - along with so many others. I believe he was my very first love and became such a great friend all the way through the 12th grade. Hearing of his passing deeply hurt my heart.

I think all the girls had a massive crush on Joey--he was a super sweet guy who was kind to everyone, even those of us that most kids considered to weird to get to know.
I hate seeing this list here, and I'm really surprised it's so long.

JOEY WAS ONE OF MY VERY BEST BUDDY'S IN HIGH SCHOOL AND AFTER. I DID NOT REALIZE HE WAS NO LONGER WITH US. I'VE ALWAYS MISSED HIS SMILING FACE. MINE AND JOEY'S BIRTHDAY'S WHERE ONE DAY APART. WE CELEBRATED MANY BIRTHDAY'S TOGETHER. BIG PARTY'S!! WE EXPERIENCED DAYTONA AFTER GRADUATION. WE USED TO GO TO UNDERGROUND TO FRONT PAGE AND MAD HATTER MANY OTHER HOT SPOTS OF OUR TIME. MOST SUNDAY A.M. HOURS WE WOULD END UP AT INDIANS SPRINGS TO WATCH THE SUN COME UP. JOEY ALONG WITH A COUPLE OTHER CLASS MATES TOOK PART IN MY WEDDING, BACK IN 1982.
I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH HOW THIS NEWS HAS HURT MY HEART.
JOEY I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR GOOD TIMES AND CLOSE FRIENDSHIP. WE'LL TAKE A CUP O'KINDNESS YET FOR AULD LANG SYNE!!
SLEEP IN PEACE. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.
