Michael Sartor, 56, died on Monday June 29, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. At Texas A&M, Mike was in Company E-2 in the Corps of Cadets. He was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps from commissioning in 1980 to 1987, attaining the rank of Captain. He served during a NATO deployment flying the F-4J Phantom from Beaufort, S.C. Later, he was a dogfighting instructor for the U.S. Navy in the TA-4 Skyhawk in Kingsville, TX. Mike was recognized by the FAA with inclusion in the FAA Airmen Certfication Database for exceeding the educational, licensing and medical standards established by the FAA. Mike worked for many years for Qualcomm in North Carolina.
His survivors include his wife, Debra; two children; a granddaughter; his mother; two brothers.
