After graduatiion, I was commissioned Regular Army and then went on education delay until I completed Medical School (Texas Tech HSC).

I met my wife (Nancy) in Lubbock (also an MD) and after my internship (UTMB) went on active duty as a General Medical Officer at Ft Devens, MA.

My wife and I then moved to Richmond, Virginia to do our residencies (Anesthesiology). I completed the balance of my 4 year obligation to the Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC (in 1995).

I was in the Army for 14 years (Active-4, Reserve-8, IRR-2) and was honorably discharged as a Major (Medical Corps).

I skated through and never heard a shot fired in anger.
