girls basketball

One of my fondest basketball memories is told by Ann Todd every year at the WRHS senior awards night as she presents the scholarship in memory of Coach Speer. Coach would scrimmage with us and you could always hear the huge ring of keys jingling in his pocket. I can still walk in that gym and hear those keys. Other times I can see him sitting at the very top of the visitor bleaches b/c he was mad at his varsity girls...it was our freshman year and our jv team was beating the crap out of the varsity during a practice over Christmas break and he got so mad at them he just went to sit down. We looked at coach yaussy and she wasn't sure what to do either so we just kept playing.

I have lots of good memories from playing basketball and teammates. There were some rough times, but for the most it was fun and one of the things I missed. Intramural basketball at OSU wasn't the same.
