The bad news first, the pulleys and chains didn't work (my wife was on bed rest). Like her brother (Evin), Nora kicked her way out. She was born Saturday March 13th at 8:26 PM EDT. Not to be outdone by Evin, Nora lodged both feet through the exit door. Needless-to-say, that lead to a very difficult series of events and ultimately Nora was urgently taken out of Amy. Both are healthy and recovering well.

The good news, Amy made it to 30 weeks and two days. Nora weighted 2 lbs 14 ozs and measured 16.5 inches. Amy hates it when I say this, but the difference between Evin at 25 weeks one day and Nora at 30 weeks two days is the difference between a fetus and small baby. Nora is almost 2 1/2 times larger than Evin at birth. Its simply stunning.

Amy begin kangaroo care on day four. If you recall, Amy was not able to hold Evin until day 60 something, and it was day 78 before I held him. That alone tells you how much better the situation is already. Nora has been breathing on her own with minimal support. Nora's body is functioning as it should and self-sustaining (minus miracle grown).

Here is a sneak peak at Nora on day 9 (without cannula) - first video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr8_sUPfe78   She was weaned off respiratory support for about three days, but as we increased feeds she became too tired to breath on her own, so we put her back on cannula support.
