AWF3(NAC) Jon Drost

Naval Aircrewman Mechanical 3rd Class, Jon Clay Drost, 25, of Port Hueneme, Calif., formerly of Maryville, Ill., born on June 7, 1991 in Granite City, Ill., passed away Dec. 11, 2016 at his residence.

Jon was a Third Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He was C-130 Loadmaster at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, Calif. He was a graduate from Collinsville High School 2009. He graduated from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. on March 16, 2013; Naval Aircrewman Training Course, Pensacola, Fla., Dec. 2013; C-130 Loadmaster Course, Fort Worth, Texas April, 2014 and was assigned to VR55 Point Mugu, Calif. on April, 2014. He was a member of the American Legion Post 741, Camarillo, Calif.

Surviving are his wife Julia Drost, nee Green; his parents, Thomas Drost of Maryville, Ill. and Sharon Turner of Tilton, Ill; step father, William Minor of Pflugerville, Texas; two sisters, Jayden Sue Hawkins of Danville, Ill. and Jennifer Marie (Thomas) Keller of Highland, Ill.; grandmother, Jerri Wilson of Collinsville, Ill.; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
