Diana Wright

Diana Nicole Wright, 23, born July 11, 1990, from Collinsville, Ill., residing in Mcleanboro, Ill. died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, in Hamilton County, Ill., from the result of an automobile accident that also claimed four other family members.

Diana was a 2009 graduate from Collinsville High School. She had current plans to enroll in college, spring of 2014, with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist.

Diana played softball with the Collinsville Kahoks for half of her high school career, she was also a stat girl for the Kahok wrestling team, Diana was previously employed by Splash City Waterpark as a lifeguard. Diana held a special place in her heart for two young girls, Amaya six and Alia four. Diana took an active role in the upbringing and care of these two girls, putting her own life on hold for the well being of the children, she was not their biological mother, but yet she loved them as her own, and they called her mom.

Diana was preceded in death by her grandmother, Desolina Bell-Wright; uncle, Bill Stephens; aunt, Marilyn Sukovaty; aunt, Linda Wright; aunt, Tammy Delong; uncle, Bobby Parker; aunt, Laurie Parker; cousin, Katelynn Fancher.

Diana is survived by her fiance, Sam Dorris; biological father, Curtis K. Wright, stepmother, Linda Mehrer and sister, Dawn Mehrer; shared parents, Danny and Kimberly Delong and siblings, Michael (Jada) Wright, Danny Delong Jr., Desirae Delong and Anna Patton; biological mother, Donna Johnston, and siblings, Ronnie Wright, Tiffany Johnston, Kimberly Morgan, Dexter Shroyer, Max Shroyer and Racer Shroyer; aunt, Angel Stephens; and uncles, Carl and David Wright.

Diana also had numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and hundreds of friends. 

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Alpha Omega Church in Collinsville, Ill.
