John Palmer - Class Of 1968

John Alan Palmer, 66, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at his home in Lakewood, CO. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Nancy (Heath) Palmer; his son, Colby Palmer and daughter-in-law Michelle Kantor; his daughter, Laura Gulsby and son-in-law Cary Gulsby; three grandchildren; and many close friends. Born August 4, 1950 in Colorado Springs, John grew up in Black Forest and graduated from Air Force High School in 1968. He married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1973 in Breckenridge, CO. He started his career as an electrician, and from 1977-1980 he worked at The Timken Company. In 1984 he started his own electrical contracting company, Palmer & Rock Electric, which became Palmer Electric in 1990. John led this successful family business until retiring in 2008. An avid golfer and bowler, John was well known by many at the Colorado Springs Country Club where he lived and served on various club committees, as well as in his bowling league. He was also a parent volunteer at the Advocacy Center for 20 years. John was known to his family, friends and coworkers as a generous, hard-working, brilliant and fun-loving man.
