I remember Michelle and I having "sleep overs" when we were in 6th and 7th grades. Her home on Swan Rd. in Black Forest was beautiful. Her step dad was an attorney in the Springs. I remember how sad I felt for her because her mom struggled greatly with alchohol until she took her life some years later. Michelle passed from breast cancer about 15 years ago.
Michelle was one of my good friends. I remember doing many things with her. One of the best was going on double dates. She dated Tom Holslag and I went on a few of their dates with Dick Schaffer our senior year. I also remember Michelle in Mrs. Hurd's chemistry class our senior year. We were lab partners with Pam Ott? We laughed a lot! I still got together with her in college a CU. Then my most recent memory was when we went to the 20th reunion and she helped my shop for a dress before the big bash in C. Springs. She had such good taste in clothes. I still can't pick out a dress for the life of me! She stayed at a motel in the Springs and I got to meet her two daughters, when they were little. She also came to visit me in Glenwood Springs when she and her family were on a ski trip to Vail. It was bad weather so instead of skiing they came over to the Hot Springs. I miss her! Great person and so sad that she was taken to breast cancer so young! Love you Michelle!
