Sam was born to Winn Cochran and Jeanne Fenimore Bornhauser on February 7th, 1951, in Moberly, Missouri. His family moved several times during his childhood due to his father’s work, but they finally ended up in Columbia, Missouri in 1964, where Sam attended West Junior & Hickman High School (Class of ’69) and was a proud Kewpie!

Although he was a National Merit and Curators’ Scholar, college was not his cup of tea. (Although he did enjoy college life for many years.) He became a computer systems analyst and later Business Manager at Boone Hospital before leaving to go into business for himself. He was a respected REALTOR® for 35 years and served as the 2001 CBOR President and was named CBOR REALTOR® of the Year among other honors.
