Frederick E. Martie, 66, of Ashland, achieved his life-long dream on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018. At 1:00 p.m., he was standing face to face with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held at Living Faith Church in Ashland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Fred was born to Charles E. Martie and Elizabeth (Graham). In 1963, his life changed when Gladys Smith married Charles and became his forever mom.

On July 31, 1970, Fred married his high school sweetheart Penny Parman. She survives in the home.

Their love brought forth two daughters, Angela Martie (Tom Chicovsky) and Jennifer Lee (Donnie); nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson who was his pride and joy.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Routh; brothers, Norman Wayne Martie, Omar Smith, David Smith, Norman (Bo) Creason, Eugene (Red) Creason; sisters, Donna Brown, Mary Lyons, Roberta Ross, Vanessa Routh, Donna Boggs, Linda Schomaker and Barbara Swift.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gladys Martie; and sister, Joyce Ann Baker.
