Stephen Glenn Pratt (Steve) passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Truman VA Hospital in Columbia after battling an aggressive cancer.

He was born on September 6, 1951 in Columbia, the son of Russell Glenn and Margaret Pratt.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, c/o Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia, MO 65202.

Steve attended Columbia Public Schools, graduating from Hickman High School, class of 1969. He attended MU before being drafted into the Army where he served in the United States Security Agency stationed at Sinop, Turkey. He was baptized in his childhood and became a member of First Baptist Church, Columbia. Steve met his former wife Lori Pickard in Belleville, Illinois and they were married on July 28, 1973. They lived in Florida for many years before returning to the Belleville area.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Pratt of Columbia; brother, Philip Pratt, sister-in-law, Mary Pratt and nephew, Brian Pratt all of Simi Valley, California; aunt, Norma Pratt of New Orleans; and several cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Russell Glenn Pratt, two sets of grandparents, other aunts and uncles and one cousin.
