
Rev. Larry David Warren, Feb. 16, 1950 — Aug. 7, 2019
The Rev. Larry David Warren, 69, of Columbia passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, at the University of Missouri Hospital.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at Parker-Millard Funeral Service 12 E. Ash St., Columbia, MO 65203.
The Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at Parkade Baptist Church, 2102 N. Garth Ave., Columbia, MO 65202. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Larry was born on Feb. 16, 1950, in Columbia to Charles Warren and Saidee Ellis Warren.
He grew up in Columbia and graduated from David H. Hickman High School in 1969.
Following high school, Larry took a full-time position with Water & Light for the City of Columbia, where he would work for the next 46 years, until his retirement in 2017.
Later in life, Larry went on to attend Western Bible College and Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, where he furthered his education and spiritual life. Larry served for many years in the Christian vineyard as a Junior Layman, deacon, minister and pastor. He was the First Vice Moderator of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist District.
He was united in marriage to Lena Thompson and later was united in marriage to Julia Butner.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Warren of Columbia; four daughters, Lamara D. Warren, Ph.D, of Bloomington, Indiana, Minister Larrita D. Warren of Atlanta, Georgia, Ebony D. Butner of Memphis, Tennessee, and Marsha D. Gremore (Matt) of Columbia; three sisters, Charlene Grant (Julius) of Chicago, Jackie Warren of Columbia and the Rev. Mary R. Warren of Columbia; four grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles H. Warren, one sister, Bonnie S. Gianquinto, and one nephew, Anthony Warren.
