Obituary: Mark Wheeler
Mark Patrick Wheeler, 48, of Aurora, formerly of Columbia, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett with the Rev. Bill Swearingen officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the funeral home.
Mr. Wheeler was born Aug. 13, 1951, in Columbia to O.V. and Ginger Rogers Wheeler.
He married Sherryl Fly on June 1, 1988, in Las Vegas, and she survives.
He graduated from Hickman High School. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated from Draughn’s Business College in Springfield. He was a draftsman for Efco Corp. in Monett. He had played in various bands over the years.
Survivors also include his parents of Columbia; a son, Nicholas Wheeler of Mexico City; a stepson, Rex Ratliff of Carthage; a sister, Jan Wheeler of Emporia, Kan.; and two grandchildren.
A stepson preceded him in death.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
