Dennis Eugene Paige, 61, of Columbia departed this life Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at University Hospital and Clinics.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roderick Williams Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 17, 1951, in Columbia to the union of Ollie Paige and Bertha Williams.

Dennis grew up in Columbia and attended Hickman High School. He was united in marriage to Evelyn (Washington) Paige on Jan. 2, 1982, and she survives at their home. Dennis was baptized at Russell Chapel Church at an early age. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and talking sports with his old buddy Harold Warren. He cherished his family and especially his time spent with his grandchildren.

Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Evelyn; his children, Tonya (Donnie) Washington of Columbia, Harold (Joetta) Washington of Atlanta, Ga., Jacqueline Rogers of Columbia, Randall Jordan of Dresser, Wis., Kim Washington of Kansas City, Rodney Washington of Columbia and Francine Robinson of Kansas City; one sister, Joyce (Maurice) Robinson of Texarkana, Texas; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Anthony Washington and Christopher Robinson; one sister, Nan McBride; one brother, Ollie Paige Jr.; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
