A funeral service for Terry Layne Mitchell will be held at 2 o'clock Monday, July 11, 2011, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1729 Blythewood Road, Blythewood, SC, 29016, with the Rev. David Ludwick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 until 7 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Blythewood.

Terry was born January 6, 1953, in Columbia, SC, and was a daughter of the late Leon Fulmer and Avis Rawl Fulmer. She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Blythewood. Mrs. Mitchell had retired from the S.C. Department of Corrections, where she worked in administration.

Survivors include her husband, of 39 years, Jerry W. Mitchell; son, Jeff (Laura) Mitchell of Blythewood, SC; a granddaughter, MaKayla Mitchell, who loved Me-Me; brother, Randy (Kay) Mitchell of Blythewood, SC; as well as five nieces and four nephews.ShivesFuneralHome.com 803.754.6290
