Schenectady, NY- Mr. Ronald L. Ghant, Sr., passed away Thursday at his home in Schenectady at the age of 49.
A native of Phenix City, AL., and the son of Mrs. Catherine Perry Ghant of Columbus and the late Ulysses Ghant, Jr., Ronald attended William H. Spencer High School and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Phenix City. Residing in Schenectady, NY for 10 years, he was employed with the Specialty Quality Packaging Company. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Gudes.
Surviving other than his mother are a son, Ronald L. Ghant, Jr; three sisters, Brenda Garner, Jacqueline Ghant and Wanda Ghant; nieces and nephews, Marcus Rayford(Acaica), Curtis Garner(Tiffany), Reginald Caruthers, Teakelia Gudes, Deante' Caruthers and Amber Ghant; aunts and uncle, Martha Ghant, Mable Bass, Ethel Grover, Mary Shepherd and George Ghant; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ronald will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park on Saturday, April 28, 2018 following a Three Thirty P.M. Homegoing Celebration at the Chapel of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc. Rev. Ted Ghant will deliver the eulogy, assisted by Rev. Lawrence Stevens and Rev. Isaiah Sumbry. Visitation is 3:00 til 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
