Columbus, Georgia- Mr. Gregory Eugene Carter, affectionately known as "Cheeseburger," 49, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 11AM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church where Rev. James Alexander is pastor. Rev. Sheryl Sneed, Pastor of Peters Chapel A.M.E. Church will officiate and deliver the eulogy. Burial with military honors will be 11AM, Monday, January 4, 2015 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation will be today from Noon until 3PM, according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave. Columbus, GA.
Mr. Carter was born January 7, 1966 in Oxnard, California. He was the son of the late Herman Carter Sr. and Jewel Rogers Murry. He was a member of the Peters Chapel A.M.E. Church and was a graduate of the William H. Spencer High School. Mr. Carter was employed by West Central Georgia Hospital.
Survivors include: his son, Cordorell Carter; an affectionate and loving step father, Freddie Murry; two brothers, Herman Carter and Ronald Carter and a host of relatives and friends.
