Peggy Westbrook

Peggy WestbrookMrs. Peggy Ann York Westbrook, age 74 of Cloudland, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Westbrook was born in Dalton, Georgia on April 3, 1946, daughter of the late Sam Huron York and Minnie Bell Biles York. She was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church, where she was the church librarian and church historian; and was retired from the Muscogee County School District. Mrs. Westbrook was the Valedictorian of her class at Reinhardt College and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and the Phi Kappa Phi Sororities. She was a member of numerous honor societies on every level, was an excellent seamstress and loved doing jigsaw puzzles.

Mrs. Westbrook is survived by her husband, Greg Westbrook; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Joseph Lester; sister, Mary Jane York Croy; brother and sister-in-law, Robert H. and Shiela York; grandchildren, Alexandra Westbrook and Dylan Lester; great grandchildren, Ianto β€œIan” Westbrook, Titus Westbrook and Amara Westbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

Private Funeral Services for Mrs. Westbrook will be held Wednesday. Burial will be in the AMI Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mikel Sadler, Corey Wilson, Krista Ratliff, Emily White-Ratliff, Angel Westbrooks, and Alexx Westbrook.

Flowers will be accepted, however, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no public visitation.

The Westbrook family, as well as the staff of Coffman Funeral Home, advise anyone that plans to attend the services for Mrs. Westbrook, to please follow the CDC recommendations as it pertains to Social distancing and social gatherings. Facemasks are not required, but are recommended.
