Deborah Atkins Sasser May 7, 1948 - March 6, 2010 COLUMBUS, GA - Deborah Atkins Sasser, 61, of Columbus died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA with Reverend Mark Sasser officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Sasser was born May 7, 1948 in Columbus, GA to the late Walter Glenn and Jeannette Peacock Atkins. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and retired from Jordan Vocational High School after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Sasser loved to sit outside and enjoy the many sounds of nature and loved watching her daughter play softball. Her presence will be missed daily, but her memory will live forever. Survivors include her loving husband of 21 years, Brady L. Sasser of Columbus; her daughter, Jessica Jade Sasser of Columbus; her sister, Andrea Lummus Edge and her husband, Mike of Columbus; her special friend, Elaine Vann of Columbus; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
