Columbus, GA- Ms. Regina Howard Blackmon passed away peacefully Tuesday at the age of 69.
The daughter of Mrs. Marie Hollis Howard White of Buffalo, NY and the late Mr. James W. Howard, Ms. Blackmon was born in Richland, GA, and was a 1966 graduate of the William H. Spencer High School. She obtained her Bachelors Degree from Georgia State University in Geriatric Science and was employed with the Columbus Consolidated Government for 27 years as a Social Service Aide. She was a Program Coordinator at the Gallup Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Carters Monumental CME Church where she served with the Missionary Board. She was an Eastern Star and a Spencer High School Alumni.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved twin boys, a sister, Dorothy Balkum, and step father, Mr. James White.
Survivors include; her son, Reginald Maddox; two daughters, Bridget Maddox and Tangela Azudibia (Georgekins); six grandchildren, Joshua, Bryanna, Justin, Auniscia, Herman and Amanda; three great grandchildren, Keira, Kamari and Amilla; special children, Carlene Guadalupe and Freddy Grover; three brothers, Larry White (Debra), James Howard, Jr. (Janie) and Willie Howard; eight sisters, Doris J. White, Mary Mell (Tony), Sarah Howard, Barbara Lincoln (Booker), Jeanette Howard, Pearlie King (Anthony), Jamese Howard and Janice Walton (Harold); a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Blackmon will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Carters Monumental CME Church with interment at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation is Tuesday, 2 til 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.
