Dear fellow Tigers. I am very sad to bring the unhappy news that we have lost a friend and classmate today. Richard McCaslin called a short while ago to tell me, and ask that I share with you, that Allen had passed away this morning. Shock is perhaps the only word I can use to express my grief at the loss of a man that has been a wonderful and generous friend.

How I will miss my intermittent trips to New Orleans and having dinner with Allen and his blessed family.

I do not know any specific details at this point, but I will share them with you as I can, as I know them. In your way, please say a prayer for Allen, and keep his loving family, Susan, Mary, and Megan in your thoughts.
