Barry Arnold

Barry Lynn Arnold, 30, of Commerce died Feb. 28, 2001 at Honobia, Okla. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Born in Greenville on Feb. 8, 1971, he was the son of Jackie Arnold and Anna Beth McKay Arnold. A lifetime resident of Commerce, he graduated from Commerce High School in 1989. He was a senior at Texas A&M University-Commerce majoring in business.
Mr. Arnold was a former member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a member of Aberfoyle Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Jacie Brianna Arnold of Lone Oak; his parents of Commerce; maternal grandparents, Gerald Dean and Laverne Smith McKay of Commerce; grandmother Jaye Arnold of Beaverton, Ore.; great-grandmother Mable Shepherd of Greenville.
His fraternal grandmother and grandfather, Helen Arnold White and Jack Louis Arnold, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Rowdy Poteet, Kurt Arnold, Ryan Evans, Dave Arnold, Kalvin McKay and Jimmy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Pat Weatherford, Kenny Cooper, Roy Henley, Randy Milam, Kelly McKay, Kortney McKay, Mardi Poteet Johnson, Shana Arnold Cohen, Misty Arnold Moon, Amber Jane Arnold, Shea Edwin Arnold, Brandon Arnold and Lindsey Arnold.

I did not find out about Barry's death until I joined facebook. It breaks my heart. He was alot of fun and will be missed. My heart goes out to his family

Meredyth Purdy (Kippes)

I was going through pictures for the reunion this weekend and came across my first grade class picture. There was Barry right in front. Doesn't seem so long ago. And very hard to believe that bright smile is gone. Even though we were never really very close, I think of him often. He is permanently fixed as a major figure of my youth and I'll never forget him.
