I received a message from Maurene Richard Miller that Cecelia Giroux Fassbinder passed away today 7/7/2010.  May her soul rest in peace and may the Perpetual Light shine upon her!

Cecilia Irene "Rich" Fassbinder

Cecilia Irene "Rich" Fassbinder, 67, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010. She was born Dec. 5, 1942, in Concordia to Edward Giroux and Armaline Marcotte.

Rich was a nurse and worked for many places, including Mowery Clinic, St. John's Hospital, Salina Regional Health Center and St. John's Military School and as a lab tech for WPM Lab.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Fassbinder, her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Rich is survived by one son, Anthony "Tony" Richard and wife Shannon, of Assaria; one daughter, Tamara "Tammy" Watkins and husband Douglas, of St. John's Military School; one brother, Gerry Giroux and wife Jane, of Salina; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Perea, Zachary Perea, Arian Richard and Aubrey Richard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a vigil at 6:30 p.m., with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Ninemire celebrant. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in St. Peter's Cemetery, Aurora.
