I remember Donnie and I walking together on Some Saturdays to Mass. We would help lead the singing of hymns.Sometimes it would just be the two of us. Even worse, I would try and play the organ! He also had a great smile!
CLAY CENTER - Donald Mathew Richard, 45, Clay Center, died Saturday, April 16,1994, at El Shot-man Lake, Gibbon, Neb., as the result of an accidental drowning.
Mr. Richard was born Sept. 19, 1948, at Concordia and was a resident of Clay Center since 1991. He was a physician's assistant for the Clay Center Family Physicians Group. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Clay Center, the National Academy of Physicians Assistants, and was an officer and a member of the American Academy of Physicians Assistants of Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Clay Center; three daughters, Julie Perkins of Hutchinson, Michelle Richard of Manhattan and Terra Richard of Concordia; his father, Matthew of Salina; two brothers, Paul of Topeka and John of Manhattan; and two sisters, Maurene Miller of Fresno, Calif., and Paula Miller of Okinawa.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Clay Center, Monsignor John George Weber officiating.
Burial will be in St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia.
A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center.
Memorials may be made to the Don Richard Memorial Fund.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 918 Seventh, Clay Center 67432.
