Mary Galene Giroux (Tannahill) - Class Of 1962

Mary G. Tannahill, 64, of Salina, died April 27, 2009. She was born the daughter of Alphonse and Ella (Comeau) Giroux on Dec. 9, 1944, in Concordia. She married Barton Tannahill on July 16, 1977, in Salina.
She was co-founder and past executive director of Focus on the Future youth facility. She also co-owned and operated The Glass Shop and Mr. Windshield glass repair companies. She was a member and past president of North Salina Business Association; member and past president of Saline County Foster Parent Association; and member of Kansas Children's Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank and Ivan Giroux; and a grandson, Cayden Eck.
Survivors include her spouse, Barton Tannahill, of Salina; children, Glenda Eck and husband Robert, of Marysville, Randy Richter and wife Nora, of Lakin, Rita Cross and husband Kenny, of Salina, Suzanne Schrater and husband Cory, of Valley Center, Denny Richter and fiancée Denise, of Chicago, Mary Klaus and husband Leon, of Salina, and Maria Umberfield and husband Robert, of Edgecomb, ME; grandchildren, Haylee and Garrett Eck, Douglas, David, and Amanda Richter, Patrick, Courtney, and Parker Schrater, Adam, Eric, and Kayla Cross, Brooke and Kaitlyn Klaus, and Alex Umberfield; great-grandchildren, Kelbi Hoover, Kayda and Noah Richter, and Brody Brown.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at Webster Conference Center, Salina. Cremation will take place after the service, and private family inurnment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Salina. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth, Salina. A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at Ryan's. Memorial contributions are to Focus on the Future Foundation.

Patty Laing (Kinberg) (1962)

We had lots of fun, laughter, tears, and a few fights, in all our years of school together.
