DAN DUNCAN OBITUARY

DELPHOS -- Dan A. Duncan, age 72, of Delphos passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his residence. He was born on September 17, 1949 in Van Wert to Junior Claire and Patricia(Bagley) Duncan and they precede him in death. On July 24, 1976 Dan married Mary Jo Lauer and she survives in Delphos.

Also surviving are his two daughters; Dani Duncan of Delphos and Jenn(Beau) Lilley of Wooster, OH. Dan is also survived by a brother Don(Sue) Duncan of Convoy and a sister Deb(Steve) Faul of Lima, three sisters-in-law and a brother in law, four nieces and three nephews, a his special niece Aimee and nephew Patrick, Dan loved all his fur babies, especially Manny.

Dan was a 1967 graduate of Crestview high school he then graduated from B.G.S.U in 1971 with a Bachelor of Music degree. He taught in the Cleveland area for a year before returning to the area and teaching music at Delphos St. John High School in the fall of 1972 and held that position until 1978.He then went to work at K and M Tire retiring in 2015 after 27 years. He also worked for the Delphos E.M.S. and was instrumental in starting the program here. Dan was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Delphos Eagles, serving as secretary for several years., was an American Legion social member. Dan directed and truly loved the Delphos St. John Alumni Band for over 20 years. He took the band to perform in the 1994 Indy 500 parade and they also played for a Cincinnati Reds game in 1995.He started coaching and was involved in the girl's summer softball leagues in both junior and senior high. Dan loved following all of his girl's activities especially volleyball where he announced their games. Dan dearly loved spending time with his family, especially in the back yard pool or their vacations at the beach. Happy Trails!

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Band Boosters.
