Karen entered into rest peacefully Friday morning March 25, 2011 after a 3 year hard-fought battle with cancer.

Karen is survived by her husband Mark Payne (HHS '78), daughter Meagan, sons, Joshua and Jeremy.

Karen remained very close with her lifelong friends from HHS: Sherry Jamison, Keri Thompson, Donna Edwards, Dana Dugger, Roxanne Willis, and others who provided unwavering support for their beloved friend through the best, and the very worst times.  In the end, it's Karen who continues to lift them up in love through her example of her unwavering Faith in God in which she held strong until her last day.

Karen touched SO many lives during her short life; her purpose for being here on Earth was fulfilled many times over.  She was very much loved and will be missed by so many.
