Ray Herzog


Raymond Kenneth Herzog Jr., 36, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Coos Bay.  Raymond was born Dec. 3, 1970, in Portland. He died on May 1, 2007, in Henderson.

Ray was a proud 1989 Marshfield High School graduate.

He entered the armed services in March 1990, and served as a cook MS3 mess specialist, admiral staff on the USS Coronado in the Navy. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he was employed on the cooking staff at resorts in Georgia, San Simeon Island, Catalina Island, and Wyoming.

Following his cooking career, Ray worked in the family business in Henderson, Nev., as the manager of The Cleaning Authority.

Ray loved children, though never married, he liked to mentor and spend time with his nieces and nephews. At gift-giving times, he always had something for the kids. He loved electronics, movies, television and films and had great aspirations of one day becoming a movie director.

He will be missed by the families of the Mejias, McCormicks, Dillers, Herzogs, and all who knew this giant with a soft heart.

He is survived by his parents, Jesus and Renee Mejia; brother, Rich Herzog; sister, RuthAnn Diller; two nephews and four nieces, and families of the Mejias, McCormicks, Dillers and Herzogs.

Ray was always the "gentle giant". I miss you cousin!!!
