I still remember those football practices and Randy would always be clowning around. We lined up across each other every practice because we played the same position. He always had that big grin on his face and was always looking for the next person he could make laugh. It's been 30 years since he left us, but he is still remembered.
I will always remember Randy. He was full of life, always having fun. I had a sleep over at his house shortly before his unfortunate accident, we had a great time. His mother sold our house when we moved to Memphis. I swore off deer hunting after his death and have not been deer hunting since. God Bless Randall Bowen.
I'll never forget when I believe we were playing Richfield (Waco school) and he tackled the QB & RB at the same time behind the line of scrimmage. He was so talented and an extremely kind soul.
Randy only lived a couple of streets from me and during summer we spent many of days playing at the park between our houses. He always had a smile and was a good friend. If I remember correctly he was a huge Baylor fan. I still remember his funeral and all the tears.
I remember Randy (Randall way back then) in Kindergarten - 3rd grade, and then I moved to Dickinson, TX and came back to Copperas Cove in January, 1983. Randy would walk over to my home on Ridge Street and we would work on spelling together. He would also take my pencils away from me since my last name was Bowen also, and tell the teacher they were his -- oh the memories! lol! I was SHOCKED to hear of his passing when I returned to Cove.
i am surprised to hear of his passing. if it would not be too hard for anyone could someone please tell me how it happen and when . i live in Michigan. I have not been back since i left due to my life here. thanks shiela
