Can this be the late "Shorty" Lewis--as I remember his name was "Jarrell".

In boyhood, Shorty had the extremely admired skill of being able to--how to say this tactfully?--produce at will a quantity of internally-produced methane, accompanied by a really striking staccato sound. This was solemnly regarded by all his contemporaries as one of the most prestigious things, along with sports and making rude noises with your armpit during your mother's bridge club.

As teens four of us were going to the drive-in movie, with Shorty and Billy Swanson hiding in the trunk to avoid paying. As we approached the cashier's booth, we (I forget who was driving) could hear in the trunk: "Shorty, you better not!! SHORRRTYYY!!"). I had to yell through the back seat to shut Swanson up.

With that, Shorty moved up to the top of the totem pole and remains in the Corpus Christi Pantheon of Boy Heroes.
