After a long illness, Elias Martinez, passed away November 6, 2011 in an Illinois hospital. Elias played the tenor sax in the W. B. Ray High School band. He graduated from Ray in 1959. He was a deeply religious person who loved and cared for his family. In latter years of his life he served as pastor of a Lutheran church in the Chicago area. Funeral services will be in Corpus. He will be buried alongside his wife who died of cancer about four years ago.
