Larry Thomas White
Larry Thomas White, 61, died June 27. He was known as Papa Bear to his family. Everyone who ever met him knows he was a kind and gentle man. Mr. White was someone who gave unconditionally, even though he had so little to give and he loved greatly. He never wanted for himself and touched all those around him, many whom he did not even know. Mr. White died in the process of giving to others. He was a part of the Patriot Guard and was on his way to escort a fallen soldier home, an act that shows just a small part of his amazing character. Mr. White was a veteran and held the armed forces in the highest regard, and he loved his country.
Although his death was too early and tragic, if you were to ask Mr. White how he would want to leave this world, his answer would be, "riding my Harley, of course." He was a part of the "Southern Cruisers Club" and the "Free Riders" of Free Chapel. He was known by many as "GaDawg." You may have read some of his blogs on occasion. Mr. White was someone who even on his gloomiest day or when he was hurting the most would smile and tell you how wonderfully blessed he was. Mr. White was a Godly man who dedicated his life to God and touched so many lives. He would not want us to mourn him but to celebrate his life. He is the kind of man that would say, "Smile, I am ready to meet my maker and to finally be home."
Surviving are many friends and family who loved him greatly. Include his parents, two brothers, two adopted children and eight grandchildren.
Mr. White was kind, generous, loving, forgiving to all and grateful for all he had.
The Southern Cruisers rode for charities and Larry's favorite was St. Jude's. The family is asking that if you wish to honor him, please make a donation to St. Jude's in his honor.
If you would like to leave wishes and words for the family please e-mail InMemoryofLarryWhite@gmail.com. Rest in peace Papa Bear. We love you and you are remembered and will never be forgotten.
