Obituary for Thomas "Eddie" Johnson

JOHNSON, Thomas "Eddie", 68, of South Charleston, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He was born on September 28, 1944 in Marietta, Georgia, the son of the late Horace and Marjorie (Mitchem) Johnson. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Sanders. Eddie is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Barnhart) Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mark Rohrer; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Angela Johnson; grandchildren, Lani and Maya Rohrer; sisters, Sheila Garner and Karen Lundy; brothers, Terry and Monty Johnson; special friends, Jim McKenzie and Randal Shadix; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Eddie retired from Navistar. He was an avid hunter and fisherman which he loved doing in his spare time. He loved to cook his catch and host barbecues for friends and family. Everyone he knew could always count on him to have a funny story and witty humor. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 10a.m. - 12 p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME-Springfield. A celebration of Eddie's life will begin at 12 p.m. with Dave Augustus officiating. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
