Barbara S. HottKEYSER, W.Va. — Barbara Sue “Barb” Hott, of Keyser, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at her home, following a valiant battle with Lymphoma. Born June 6, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Howard V. Hott. Barbara was also preceded in death by her brother Robert V. “Bobby” Hott in 1989. In 1978, Barbara graduated from Bruce High School and the Career Center in the Health Services Program. She was formerly employed at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Information Manufacturing Corporation and most recently at the Allegany County Detention Center where she worked as a Correctional Officer. Surviving is the love of her life, her daughter Tori Helene Clifford of Keyser, her mother Doris Hott of McCoole, her sisters Debbie and husband Mark Amyot of Rawlings and Sharon and husband Randy Montgomery of Burlington. Barb is also survived by her nieces Christine M. and husband Ben Hurley of Greencastle, PA, Ashley L. Montgomery of Burlington, Erica A. Montgomery of Burlington and fiancé’ Randy “Bud” Fazenbaker, II of Bloomington, her nephews Matthew M. Amyot and due to arrive in March, Connor Matthew Hurley.Special friends Aunt Les Dawson, Peg Amyot and family, Cheryl Wilson, Kim Pifer, Terry Redman, Jackie Shirley, Terry Bruce, Carl, Harriet and Heidi Moore, Jennifer and Cody Hickey, Kerry Fazenbaker, Eleanor McFarland, Bruce Wilson, Marlon Allen, Ron and Jill Custer, Dave Hudson, Alfred “Smokes” Smith, friends from IMC and so many more. Also, many thanks to her caregivers for their kindness and compassion; Shirley Vinci, Judy Thomas, Bobbi Sue Rooney, Brenda Gattens, Ashley Johnson and Dee Spiker. Special thanks to Dr. Alida Podrumar and the staff at Seton Oncology, Dr. Scott Watkins and all her friends at the Cancer Clinic. In addition, special thanks to Mark Reed and the staff of Reed’s Pharmacy, Wayne Heavner at Midstate Medical, Maureen Finley of Carefirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Maryland and the Hospice staff of Potomac Valley Hospital, including Nurses Wanda Haggerty and Roberta Shaffer. Barb’s family is also appreciative of the generous donations of paid leave time from employees of the following departments of the Allegany County Commissioners: Community Services, County Administrator’s Office, County Commissioner’s Office, Detention Center, Economic Development, Election Board, Finance, Housing, Human Resources, Information Technology, Liquor Board, Maintenance, Nursing Home, Public Works, Roads, Tax Office, Tourism and the Allegany County Transit.Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Martin Townsend officiating. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport. Pallbearers will be Mark Amyot, Anthony “Tony” Clifford, Marlon Allen, Ron Custer, Cody Moore and Dave Hudson. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Carl Moore.
