Thomas Nathan Truckenmiller, 31, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Creston.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First St, Ankeny, with burial in Ankeny Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.

Tommy was born January 15, 1978 to Dan and Lisa Truckenmiller in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Smouse, Van Meter and Creston Schools. He lived at Midwest opportunity home for ten years in Creston. Tommy always had an infectious smile on his face and he never met a stranger. Tom loved to be on the go, listening to music and watching movies.

Survivors include his parents, Dan and Lisa Truckenmiller of Lawson, MO; sister, Holly Truckenmiller (Virgil Burks) and nephew, Travis of Des Moines; grandparents, Richard and Marilyn Brown of Sun City, AZ; numerous aunts and uncles; and his Spirit Point Family. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Rose Truckenmiller.

It takes a village of special people to raise a special needs child and the family would like to thank all of his caregivers and teachers in Creston and Des Moines for their love and care to Tom and his family.
