Walter R. Gleason, 66, of Crete, IL. Beloved husband of Roberta Blackwell-Gleason, nee Blackwell. Loving father of Christine Louise Blackwell of Crete and Catherine Ann Gleason of Crete and Karen Noel Gleason (Jon Polzin) of Kenmore, WA. Cherished grandfather of Zachary Jon Polzin and Kelsey Noel Polzin of Kenmore, WA. Dear brother of the late Patrick (Sandra) Gleason of California, Rita (Dwight) Stiehl of Wheaton, Virginia (Richard) White of Panama City , Fl. and Richard (Karen) Gleason of Gillette, WY. Beloved son of Rita Jacob Gleason of Chicago. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Memorial service Sunday, June 29 at 3 pm at the Unitarian- Universalist Community Church, 70 Sycamore Dr., Park Forest. Il. Walter was retired as an administrator for the Ill. Dept. of Mental Health at the Tinley Park Mental Health Center Campus. He was a certified flight instructor (glider) and an avid pilot. He was a Captain in the Illinois Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. He was former president and stage manager of The Grande Prairie Singers where his wife sang alto. He served for many years on the board of the Birchstreet Townhomes Co- operative in Park Forest.
